Biography Dedree A. Drees is Professor of Computer Graphics and Visual Communications
at CCBC Catonsville, Maryland. Her work is represented both regionally and as far away
as New Mexico and Turkey. She had a Fulbright-Hays Grant to study art in
Belgium and the Netherlands. She received a BS from Skidmore College, MFA from
Penn. State and MLA from Johns Hopkins U. She has just started coursework in the
Doctor of Communication Design at the University of Baltimore. Current graphics
projects include the Baltimore Destination and Planning Guide 2002 and environmental
design for the new BWI Airport parking garage.
In discussing her work, she says, "I want to make art that is beautiful, that addresses
the viewer's spiritual needs. I want to create works that show, as Blake said,
'an infinity in a grain of sand.' I like the idea of an art that is multi-cultural and
multidirectional, connecting then and now, here and there, us and them." |
